Issue #14 – Wednesday, March 25, 2026
Hi %%SubscriberFirstName%%,
Trust is built between the big moments
Most people treat trust like something they’ll “turn on”
when it’s time to launch.
They disappear for weeks, then suddenly show up saying,
“Hey, I’ve got something for you.”
Real people don’t work like that.
Trust is built in all the small, quiet touches in between:
the short emails that help, the honest stories, the times
you show up when nothing big is happening.
Show that you’re here for more than the sale
People open your stuff asking, “Is this going to help me,
or is this just another pitch?”
When they repeatedly see:
-
Useful ideas they can actually do something with
-
Clear respect for their time and attention
-
Offers that fit naturally instead of hijacking the message
they start to relax around you.
Your newsletter becomes “that thing that’s usually worth
opening,” not “that thing that’s always trying to sell me.”
That’s trust.
Let your actions match your promises
Nothing breaks trust faster than saying one thing and doing
another.
If you say you care about:
-
Not overwhelming them
-
Being straight about what something can and can’t do
-
Helping them think more clearly
then your content has to reflect that.
That means:
-
Admitting when something is hard, not pretending it’s easy
-
Sharing small wins and real mistakes
-
Being honest about who your stuff is and isn’t for
Over time, people stop reading just your words and start
reading your pattern.
One small move for this week
Here’s your assignment:
-
Look at your last 5–10 pieces of content (emails, posts,
videos) and ask: “If someone only saw these, what would
they think I care about most?” -
Write one short line for yourself:
“I want people to feel like I’m the person who _.” (Examples: “tells them the truth,” “respects their time,”
“helps them think more clearly.”) -
In your next email or post, add one small moment that
matches that—an honest note, a clearer explanation, a
tiny extra bit that makes their life easier.
Trust isn’t one grand gesture. It’s a thousand small ones
that all point in the same direction.
What’s coming next
In the next issue, we’ll zoom out and look at how all of
this—your story, your system, your offers, and your quiet
trust building—starts to add up to a **clear, long‑term
position** in your reader’s mind.
