### Your life is not a blank calendar
Advice online often sounds like
you can just carve out endless
focus blocks if you “want it
badly enough.”
But in real life you’ve got:
Work.
Family.
Errands.
Energy that rises and falls.
Your system has to fit inside
that reality, or it won’t last.
### Build around your energy, not your fantasy
Instead of designing your week
around who you wish you were,
start with who you actually are.
Ask yourself:
– “When do I usually have my
best focus?”
– “When am I usually wiped
out?”
– “What size blocks do I
honestly have — 20 minutes,
40 minutes, an hour?”
Then place your newsletter
work where it has a chance
to succeed:
– Higher‑energy times for
writing and offers.
– Lower‑energy times for idea
capture and light tweaks.
You’re surfing your energy,
not fighting it.
### Let your offline life support the work
Your offline choices either:
– Steal fuel from this work,
– Or quietly refill the tank.
Supportive moves look like:
– Protecting one or two small
windows a week as “non‑negotiable”
work time.
– Saying no to one extra thing
so you can say yes to your
next issue.
– Allowing real rest so you
don’t show up to your list
already drained.
This isn’t selfish.
It’s how you keep the whole
thing sustainable.
### One small move for this week
Here’s your assignment:
1) For the next few days,
notice and jot down:
– when you feel most clear,
– when you feel most spent.
2) Pick **two small windows**
next week that match your
clearer energy — even if
they’re only 20–30 minutes.
3) Block those windows for
newsletter work and protect
them like an appointment.
No heroic schedule.
Just aligned timing.
